CHARITY PDSA has put together 12 festive safety tips to make pet welfare a top priority this Christmas. PDSA sees hundreds of animals each year who become ill or are accidentally injured as a direct result of the festive season. It’s hoped the tips will help owners keep their pets safe and sound when the Christmas and New Year celebrations kick off.
The main causes of animals being seen by vets include swallowing foreign objects (such as turkey bones, tinsel and baubles), poisoning, caused by eating chocolate or raisins, and electrocution (chewing through Christmas tree light cables).
