Calling all dogs (and their owners) in and around Salisbury and Andover. Dogs Trust Salisbury is organising an Open Day this coming Sunday– 7 August – where it’s hoping to break the Guinness World Record for the largest simultaneous dog stay. To break the current record 628 dogs need to do a ‘stay’ for two minutes.
Leslie Gold, Supporter Relations Officer for Dogs Trust Salisbury says: “Dogs don’t need to be obedience champions to take part in the ‘Super Stay’; they just need to sit or lie down for two minutes by their owner’s side. And there’s no rule saying dogs can’t be bribed with treats! We’re aiming to get close to 1,000 dogs helping out so that even with any disqualifications, we’ll still break the record.”
The Open Day & Fun Dog Show runs from 11am-4pm in the field opposite Dogs Trust Salisbury’s rehoming centre in Newton Tony. The record attempt will take place at 1pm. Admission adults £1.50, children and over 60s free. For more information, contact Dogs Trust Salisbury, tel. 01980 629634.
