If you’re shopping at Bluewater in Kent this weekend come and meet some of the lovable canines from Battersea Dogs & Cats Home. Among those visiting on 20-21 August from the charity’s site at nearby Brands Hatch will be happy Staffie, Georgie, pictured above.
     You can chat to staff about what’s involved in rehoming a Battersea animal, get lots of advice on responsible dog ownership and find out how perfect matches are made. Children can learn how to safely interact with dogs and take part in face painting, badge making, games and competitions.
     Dog owners can take advantage of a free pet tag from Battersea, engraved with their contact details, and there will also be a shop selling dog and cat goodies and a pop-up photography gallery displaying prints of Battersea residents.
     The event will take place in the car park outside Marks & Spencer at Bluewater, Kent, from 9am-5pm on Saturday 20 August 2011 and 11am-4pm on Sunday 21 August.
