I have just been made aware of Natural dog food, as to be honest it never occured to me when buying dog food (as I am relatively new to dog ownership) that food manufacturers actually but additives etc in dog food! I wondered why my dogs chose to eat the Bakers biscuits over the Iams, Pedigree and others I had tried!! And thats because its full of colourings and what I would describe as E numbers for dogs!!
So I have been looking into what types of Natural Dog foods there are out there and what cost they are (some are super expensive!)and so far I have seen these:Harrigtons Natural Dog Food
- 15kg bag for £19.99http://www.harringtonsdogfood.co.ukWainwrights Natural Food
(Pets At Homes own brand) - 15kg for £27.99James Wellbeloved Natural Food
- 15kg for £44.99
this one is new to the market:Pedigree
'better by Nature' - 15kg for £24.00
I want to purchase some Harrigtons for my dogs as its the most economical natural food for my two, and its made locally (in Thirsk) but finding somewhere that sells it is the problem, I received this email from Harrigtons:
I'm glad you are going to try our food and hope that both your dogs enjoy it. Our sales team are trying to get our food into as many shops as possible, but as Pets at Home are a national company this has to be done through their main buyers and can take some time. With people like you spreading the word and asking for the food it does help persuade shops to stock it. So keep up the good work.
