A new ITV1 series will show animal lover Paul O’Grady getting to know the staff and dogs at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home and uncovering the funny, emotional, and inspiring stories that unfold behind the scenes at the world’s most famous animal refuge every day.
The seven-part series starts on ITV1 on Monday 3 September at 8pm and each 30-minute episode follows Paul as he discovers what it takes to look after 6,000 dogs a year at the iconic rescue centre. Paul is determined to get stuck in, and help with everything from scrubbing kennels and hand rearing puppies to rehoming dogs and assisting with operations in the charity’s busy clinic.
Paul spent just over two months at Battersea’s London centre filming for the new series. He says: “This has been one of the nicest jobs I've ever had. Everybody knows Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, it’s one of the jewels in London’s crown and it was a joy to be there.”
