You just put your money in a machine and it supplies you with all of the warm water, shampoo, conditioner and a flea rinse, theres even a hairdryer! My dog loved it and he smells lovely now. I usually bath my lab about once a month

Like a car wash for dogs

Also one in York apparently... http://metrodogs.com.au/locations.php

I have a Wilkinsons own brand of Puppy Shampoo (was not expensive) and its very mild - smells abit like baby shampoo.. and it leaves them with a mild scent and their fur is very soft and shiny after the bath.. I have heard that you are not to bath dogs / puppies too often as it makes their skin dry and itchy.. so I tend to bath mine once every two weeks.. depends how dirty they get! I have been giving my pups Yumega Dog oil in the mornings as thats full of nutrients for their skin.. and apparently prevents them from shedding excessive hair :)

An animal expert dermatologist told me the best shampoo to use on your dog is Johnsons baby shampoo as it is very mild and wont do their skin any harm.

Can anybody recommend a good dog shampoo or what kind would be best?

Also how often should you bath a dog as I've heard so many different stories?

Why not contact your Breed Club and seek advice from members with experience of the breed itself? There will be a much wider pool of breed specific experience for you to draw upon

I have a small mixed breed and a German Shepherd. The shampoo I use is ph Balanced & Soap free for a simply luxurious way to maintain a healthy, soft & sweet smelling coat. Available in luscious Lemon, sweet smelling Pear Drops or fresh & fruity Rain Drops. This shampoo does not dry out your beloved dogs coat. This shampoo was featured in Animals and You Magazine

I use a luxurious silk conditioner which is sutable for dogs of any coat or texture.
The silk conditioner has been formulated from the highest quality natural ingredients to make it enviromentally safe and user friendly. Also contains pure evening Primrose Oil to gently condition and maintain the coat.

The shampoo and conditioner can be bought from http://www.glitzydog.com
