ABM Publishing Ltd is a family run business which was started as a partnership in 1984. It has grown from humble beginnings, when the first magazine was prepared on the family’s dining room table using a portable typewriter, it now has 17 members of staff and four directors. After moving from various local premises we are now situated at our present headquarters at 61 Great Whyte in Ramsey, Cambridgeshire.
The first publication produced by ABM Publishing Ltd was Family Tree Magazine which was the first commercial British family history magazine sold nationally. It steadily grew into the highest circulating British family history publication and still maintains its position today.
In 1997, a second magazine was launched called Practical Family History which was specifically aimed at the less experienced family historian.
In January 2008 we added Dogs Monthly to our collection of titles. A re-launch of this existing magazine along with a new team, new design and with more pages, takes place at the 2008 Crufts international dogs show.
